Really looking for some advice, I no their will be a million and one threads like this already, my current main desktop is in need of an upgrade, looking to replace the graphics card it's having a few issues with blue screens, I've swap tested it with my other pc's 760 and I works fine, I really want some advice on new Gfx card and maybe adding more ram at a later stage, I'd ideally like to stick to nvidia but if I'd get a better system with and so be it.

As for what I use the pc for, I play realm reborn, witcher games ect, and plan to try fallout when it's out.

Intel Core i7 950
EVGA X58 Classified3 Intel X58
6GB Corsair Dominator GT KIT DDR3 (3x2GB) PC3 16000 2000MHz
Enermax Revolution 800 w could be 850
EVGA 580 1.5gb
All under watercooled
LDcooling case so lots of space.
Lg ips 27" monitor

I'll be doing a fresh install of an os. And I've got 3 Samsung ssd's in the system

My budget is around £600(never spent this kind of money on a single part before) I personally don't mind if it's 1 or 2 cards, I already have the loop in place to add the new card(s) to the system, I has been looking at the zotac artic storm as I loved the hybrid system, but I've seen mixed reviews, and issues with swapping the barbs, and it's closer to £700

Thanks in advance for any help

I am in similar situation, would like to upgrade my GPU, as my sig says, systems are almost the same spec wise, only real issue i have is with Skyrim, have added a lot of mods to the game and am using up all the gpu memory which then causes bad stuttering in places.
Really need to do a reinstall of windows and install Skyrim on my ssd sometime.

Got a choice of either 970, 980 or 980Ti, I prefer to get the best single card I can and would like the 980Ti but bit to expensive at the moment, 980 seems best bet but I am no particular hurry so will prob wait and see what prices do.
I realize that 980ti is overkill for 1080p but extra power and memory spare is all ways useful.

Will most likely do a full system upgrade either round xmas or new year keeping what ever gpu i get.

Thanks

I just upgraded from 580 sli to a single R9 390 MSI gaming. Its nice and quiet. Hits about 70c underload and so far plays pretty much everything on Ultra that I have.

But looking at your budget a 980ti would be best

Only thing is I'm not sure if his i7 will bottleneck it, might want to check some benchmarks but otherwise I agree.

Thanks for the replies guys, in the end i got a Zotac 980 ti Amp, which i put under an EK waterblock which keeps it nice and cool, not putting allot on strain on the system but for now at least im up and running again

I ordered a Xeon processor from ebay, but it was DOA so having to try and sort that with the seller and ebay atm.

The plan for next month is RAM and sort the processor, then i may even look at acrylic tubing for my water cooling or see if there is anyone out there willing to do that for me lol

So thanks guys for advice,
