I currently have a Intel P4 3.06ghz 533fsb, I know its old hat :p

Just wondered what would give me best bang per buck without costing a mint, even second hand would be good.

I am a bit confused with all the cpu types out now, it was a lot easier when speed was determined on Mhz alone.

Would also like to see bench mark results so I could see how much faster the cpu's are in comparsion to mine.

Thats one of my big concerns what initially seems a pretty good value upgrade soon costs a lot more than you bargained for.

Another £100-£160 for 1gb DDR2 Ram
£80-£300 for PCI-E graphics card (I still have AGP)

Looks like I'm going to have to save for a while.

it gets painfull

Save's a understatement just started looking 4 a cpu.Just ordered stuff online ended up spending nearly £600. I FEEL ILL!!!!!!!!
