A 980 ti will be overkill for a lot of games at that resolution (See review below for some benchmarks). There are certain games that will stretch the 980 ti though (Crysis 3, Assassins Creed Unity, Witcher 3 etc).

What games do you actually play? Nobody has asked and you haven't said.

Even a 970 could be massive overkill if you just play World of Tanks or Minecraft all day long..

Eh, I just want a solid build that will last a good few years and be able to keep up with releases.

I would avoid the GTX970... the stuttering issue is really annoying.

I've had 2x970, moved to 2x980 and it was nice to lose the stutter

Worth the extra.

For your SSD, do you want a speed increase for boot and games drive or a larger one as a storage drive?
