I'm using a set if Steelseries Arctics 7P+ on my PC for gaming but want to upgrade as although the sound is pretty good it's not amazing.

The sound on my older Astro A50's I find to be better but they are quite old and not as comfortable.

I'm looking at the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT, but they seem to get mixed reviews, some say excellent, others say the sound is a little flat.

Ideally I'd want wireless but open to suggestions, pretty flexible on price too, I just want something good and that will be a noticable upgrade to the steelseries.

I had to replace my Arctis Pro wireless recently, I ended up just buying another pair after looking at the other options as they are now EOL they were pretty cheap. Have you messed around with the EQ in the steelseries app?

I tried the new Arctis Novas, didn't like the anc mic in the earpiece, it pressed into my ear and was uncomfortable.

Most don't have swappable batteries which was important, the Audeze Maxwell are meant to be decent but the reports of the planar drivers put me off - the sound quality is meant to be a nice step up though maybe worth a look?

Always thought the HyperX Clouds sounded OK, haven't tried the wireless versions though.

Well this could be embarasing, I didn't know there was an app for them, I've just been using them plug n play which is what I did when they were used on the PS5.

Digging up this thread again as I'm not getting on with the steel series software and I've been using my very old Astro A50's again.
Problem is the battery doesn't last long on the A50's now so I'm again looking for a new headset.

Anything new/decent come out that someone could recommend?

I'm very fond of my audeze maxwell, some day they are heavy but I find them fine. I did twice the headband and ear cups from wicked cushions but not really needed. A local catalogue shop had the headset on sale last month I think for about £275 I think so may go on sale again?

Audeze Maxwells

Thanks, I had those on my list a while ago then forgot the name. Are they plug n play or do they rely on a software to get the best out of them?

Audeze software is very minimal its mainly used for updating the firmware for the headset and dongle and also has few presets built into it which i recommend the immersive preset after testing them all...

the battery life is crazy good!

This guy does some good reviews, before I got my maxwells I was considering the Sony Pulse Elite headset, they were getting some mixed reviews but I think they could be worth a check, over half the price as well

The TheTechne and that guy above do good reviews on gaming headsets.

I will add the audeze maxwells, as fantastic and detailed as the plannar drivers are on them they have an crinkle issue, so you may hear a crack or pop noise. Its not a fault off the headset but normal.

So imo you need to be sure if you can manage the crinkle plannar flaw (its on all plannar based hps) personally.... its the most dumbest thing I have ever heard, its like 3 steps backwards since the whole point of clarity and detail is its meant to make music, movies and games sound better but if you hear a click or crackle its not.

I will be selling my Audeze maxwells off in the next month or 2, most detailed and best sound I have experienced even besting £800 hps but imo nothing beats good old dynamic drivers that don't go pop and crack.

thats weird ive never had a pop or crackle from mine and had them 5 months and im proper anal about things like that same with my car... u updating ya firmware on them?
