looking to upgrade, on the "cheap side" ...

anyone got a link of all teh graphics cards (ATI + Geforce) by model number (latest -> olderst( and best - worst)

?

all these ******* numbers and letters mean nothing to me :(

Sorry slight thread hijack

Will rig in my sig also be able to max Skyrim at 1680x1050?

If not what would be a good upgrade graphics card wise?

Couldn't see a 280 on the list of cards but if you look at this comparison between a 285 and a 470, I would concentrate on the Crysis warhead example as I suspect Skyrim could be equal or more demanding graphically than Crysis Warhead and you will see the 285 is struggling, even at 1680 X 1050, upgrade time methinks for you buddy.:D

Maybe this card for the extra memory and future proofing, or this card if you are not too bothered about extra memory.:D

Thanks, well it has done well, it has lasted 3 years!

What is the power usage like on these new cards, will my corsair 620w do the trick still?

power consumption if anything has probably got better, i know the CPUs have?

same situation here, had my sli 8800s for 4 years and they still hold up 60-fps on deus ex ^^

just worried about Skyrim! (and hard reset just kills them!)

I used a friend's Q9450, motherboard, and RAM (OCZ 800MHz stuff), and it was absolutely fine in everything I was throwing at it (graphics card was a 768MB 460 - admirable performance :D), so I would concentrate on the graphics card(s) for now.

The 460s look like a nice option for the money, personally, even though I usually prefer a single card.

Your PSU is plenty. My friend is running a superclocked 570, and a 9800GTX as a PhysX card, which I believe is also overclocked, on a Corsair 520w PSU. The system draws nowhere near 520w.
