I'd take Wayne's suggestion of a different cooler personally.
I can't stand the S775 crap.

I cannot push the last one in. Its just not clicking in... or moving at all. It might be stuck or something - Also its always the same hole that wont fit in.
That's an interesting observation and it does complicate matters! No matter how i rotate the cooler and push the pins in, the same hole at the top wont go into place, and so wont click properly.
I use the Antec 300 . . . it allows most of the big mamma heatsinks to fit just fine . . . if we can't get this pesky stock LGA775 heatsink to work then I guess you need to look at something else . . .I would happily buy a 3rd party heatsink.
Is there a recommended one for the antec 300? (as in one that fits). I mean i thought my case was big, but these heatsinks look huge.

I don't see how the case can block it?. . . the board should be sitting on several case stand-offs that raise the PCB away from the case floor . . . your making it sound like the mobo is sitting against the case side?
You said the same hole is always impossible to fit? . . . did you always leave this hole to last or did you attempt to push the pin down in this hole first?
Can you confirm that the clear outer casing is not bent of splayed . . . if you rotated the heatsink I guess not!Il try again.

The arrows on the push-pins show the direction to turn to unlock

PUSH IT MAN! . . . push for your country!![]()
Ahhh yes that would make sense!ok after inspecting the back of the antec 300, the second door. I found that there were only 4 gold screw in place for the mobo. So this the reason that the mobo is actually touching the case. There is not any gold screws near where that last push pin is, there when i push it, the mobo is pushed with it touching the case, bending the mobo.
The box of screws managed to hide from you . . . brilliant! The reason there is only 4 screws is because we didnt find a screws box inside the mobo. Then when i opened up the back door of the case a month or two ago before i came to uni, I found the screws. - Unfortunately I left the box at home i think.
As a temp measure stick the standoffs in each corner of the mobo. Make sure you do as Wayne suggests first though and affix the cooler to the mobo while it's outside the case.
You should be able to get a bag of screws and standoffs on the bay for a couple of quid.
leave that running for 15-30mins
