Looking to upgrade, will my PSU be enough?

So at the moment, I have the following :-

E8400
4GB ram
550W Corsair PSU (VX550W)
Asus P5QL Pro
4x SATA HDD
1x SSD

I am looking to upgrade to :-

i5 4690k
16GB ddr3 pc3-19200
Gigabyte Z97P-D3

So question is, is the PSU enough for it?

It is.

Make sure all your drives are SATA for the new board.

What SSD is it? some old Sandforce controllers dont like Z87 and I believe its the same for Z97.

If you will be overclocking now or in the future, then worth considering a slightly better mobo, since that one is bottom of the pile.

Forgot to mention gfx card, r9 280 3gb, is the PSU still enough?

dacads, what other motherboard would you recommend then around the same price?

quick google says yes mate. although a little headroom is always good. minimum psu would be a 500w and thats with other components too so you would be fine. just dont push the OC too much
