Hey,

I'm currently looking to upgrade to a new system, but I'll be honest, my knowledge of the individual components is pretty basic at best. I've had a look at an existing system and altered some of the specs with the OcUK PC Configurator, but to be fair, I could just be selecting anything for the sake of it and splashing money where I don't need to.

Any advice, recommendations etc. I would greatly appreciate.

Here's what I'm currently looking at:

The original link (unmodified): Skylake/Kabylake Midi Tower Gaming PC Configurator

I'm happy to stay around this budget, increase it slightly if needs be.

Ideally, I'm looking for a PC that can support games without performance suffering too much or having to sacrifice graphic quality too much, such as; GTA V (mid-high settings maybe), Battlefield 3 / Hardline, The Evil Within 2, Fallout 4 & Skyrim, ranging to older games such as CS GO, Left 4 Dead 2 etc.

Is there anything listed above that can be sacrificed for the sake of saving money?
Can I upgrade anything listed above without breaking the budget too much?

Many thanks in advance for any support given and any recommendations/suggestions are appreciated.

Brill, thanks for the suggestions - I'm more swayed towards build 2 with the Ryzen 7. My mate swears by AMD over Intel gaming due to the AMD pricing being much cheaper, but he also mentioned that the AMD processors tend to generate a lot more heat so I'm guessing a good cooling system would need to go with it - would the cooling system be good enough do you think? There doesn't appear to be any options for modification so I was just a little uneasy thinking, well, if I went for build two and after say an hours worth of playing something like The Evil Within 2 would it start to overheat? (sorry if these are pretty noob questions, I'm not 100% key'd up with the ins and outs) - thanks again.

The stock cooler isn't to bad apparently , should handle 3.7ghz overclock .
Might be worth cooking OCUK to see if they could do a deal with the system .
Also, very importantly ... Get them to change the kit to the 3000hz version ! If not you'll be losing out on performance!!!!!!!!
AMD GPU do allow for cheaper, just as good freesync monitors , for £200 can have 144hz monitor were as Nvidia it's £380

The last gen AMD cpu's ran hot, especially the FX 9590. The Ryzen ones run much cooler. As mentioned above, the stock cooler is even fine for a moderate overclock. If you want an aftermarket one then something like a Cryorig H7 or Alpenfohn Brocken 3 will do fine. You will need to speak with them though (OCUK) if you don't have the option in the configurator.

Also if you are just gaming then the R5 1600 is just as good as the 8 core R7 1700. If you plan on doing twitch streaming or video editing/rendering etc then it makes sense to go with the 8 core.

Legends, cheers guys. Think that's me sold - haven't had a good spend in a while so I think I'm due something nice for a change lol. If you're not already on the customer service team, you've got a knack for it ;)

Assuming that’s the system you have? The That 1050ti will be holding your i7 back and the games aswell, you need to upgrade to a 1070/1080 if you want to get very good fps also get a better quality psu aswell.

Something like this..

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,147.57
(includes shipping: £12.60)

Again this is assuming your already have that intel build, if you actually don’t then coffee lake or ryzen 6/8 core systems be better forbhe budget than the kabylake 7700k.
