Hi, looking to upgrade my system and would appreciate some advice. Currently running the following -

Ryzen 9 3900X
Aorus 570X Elite mobo
32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 ram
MSI RTX 3090 Gaming X Trio
Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
Corsair H150I Pro 360 cooler
Corsair 5000D Airflow case.

I have £1500 to spend and would love to just buy a 4090 or 7900 GPU but think I would be better off getting a new CPU/MOBO/RAM and hoping I can persuade the Mrs into a new GPU in the future! I mainly use my rig for gaming so any recommendations would be welcome as I can't decide whether to stick with AMD or jump ship back to Intel.

5800X3D just now if you're struggling and save your money for one of the 7x00 3D chips later this year.

Just slap a 4090 in it. A cpu upgrade wont make much difference at 4K vs a gpu upgrade. Make sure you psu is powerful enough to drive the 4090 and the rest of your rig.

Wouldn't the 3900X just bottleneck it though? Don't want to fork out £1500+ on a GPU just for a few more FPS?

(At 4K) Depends on the game/settings, in some cases, there's little to no bottleneck. You'd be best off whacking everything up to max.

Thanks for all the advice guys, going to go with the general opinion and leave the AM5 update to a later date and have ordered a 5800X3D and a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC. Paying a bit more than I initially budgeted for but what the hey? Just need to D/L a bios update for my mobo and goodies arriving tomorrow.
