have been running an i5 2500k system with a gtx 580 lately but havent had the time to game/ lost interest

im still wanting too game now and then and still at a high level of detail

was thinking of selling the gtx 580 and getting something a bit lower end but still good if ya get me

other reason im thinking of doing this as my monitor packed in and have just been using my 720p TV for my pc so obviously its less demanding on the gpu because of the resolution,

whats the lowest card i could use that i'd still get decent performance from at 720p

cheers guys

Keep what you have, more than likely you'll be glad you did imo. If you do decide to drop down a notch or two then a 5850 would be an excellent idea.

i did think that too myself, but im getting on fine with just a 720p monitor/tv for gaming, i take it the 580 wont really be pushed at this resolution no?

you could just keep that card, will still run latest games for another couple years..

or maybe get something like gtx460 going cheaper these days

i'd swap you a gtx 460

Try something like The Witcher 2 max'ed out with Ubersampling, and you'll find a single GTX580 helpless :D

Anyway, if you are not concerned about any noise/temperature issues, then just keep it.
