Cisse suffered a broken leg back in October 2004
Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse could be out of the World Cup after being carried off with a suspected broken leg in France's friendly against China.

The 24-year-old fell awkwardly in a challenge early in the first half of the match in St Etienne.

Cisse, whose future at Anfield is uncertain, broke his left leg while playing for Liverpool in October 2004 and was out for almost six months.

He had been linked with a move to Marseille after the World Cup.

Cisse was chasing the ball down the right flank 10 minutes into the game and was knocked off balance by an opposing defender.

As he fell, his right leg twisted under him and buckled above the ankle. He was stretchered off and replaced by David Trezeguet.

Well in 98 France won it with only one striker (Trez) and he didn't even score. :eek:

So I don't see the problem as they have Henry as well now. On a side note how many strikers did they take in 2002 when they didn't score?
