Counting through my change from my cigarettes that i have been keeping since the new year (as opposed to buying cans of drink with) and that 20/30p a day change has left me with £50 in 5 months.

Not the best way of saving, but who says smoking leaves you skint :p

Nobody. But if you didn't smoke that £50 would have been a few hundred instead ;)

It would be over a grand smart arse

To be honest it all gets spent, if i didn't smoke it would be spent on dvds, booze or some other crap i don't really need, anyway i don't want this to be pro/anti smoking it was just crazy how much money you throw away in one way or another, whether its the expensive coffees or the loose change itself.

You know people post 9/11 conspiracy videos too much when you see this thread title and think another has been re-posted :(

Your talking about saving by not drinking cans of drink....

with change from your cigarettes!?

I'm trying to save as well, I've been driving very conservatively with my new ferrari to keep fuel costs down.

Yeah my first thought was "oh no, not again! :(" when I saw this! I've got about £30 of coppers stashed away, can't be bothered counting them out and cashing them in.

Logic fail.

I know what your getting at but i think you missed the point, which is easily done as i elaborated in the 3/4 post.

I too have a box with loads of coins in , just throw them in and can never be bothered to count.

About a year ago I counted out £250 in 10ps and above and spent some of it , now the box is sitting at about 20kg again :p - I don't really want to take it to one of those machines that will steal 7% of it! Might count the lot this weekend if I really have nothing better to do!

been collecting £2 coins for over a year now whenever I get change in shops. Last time I checked I had nearly £600.

The sad thing is, I told the ladies in the office I work with and now they turn up every couple of days offering to exchange £2 coins they've recieved as they think it is my "hobby"
