Loot-Based Games

I'm looking for a recommendation here really... I'm a little lost on what to play.

It seems that I adore loot-based games, a revelation that does come as a surprise. Recently, I've torn through Borderlands 1/2, Torchlight 2 and a magnitude of MMO's.

Are there any solid games in this genre worth my time and attention?

You've already picked the "best loot 'n' level" games for the last year (BL2 & TL2). You can get more mileage out of BL2 with the DLC and the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, and there is supposed to be more DLC coming down the line.

I just remembered - "Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning" and the DLC ("Legend Of Dead Kel" & "Teeth Of Naros"). A great game that was a lot of fun. One run through on one character clocked me up about 110 hours of gameplay. Lots of looting and levelling, lots of skills and multiple skill trees.

A real shame the devs went bust due to local politics.

I've not played it myself, but surely Diablo 3 should be on the list as well as the above recommendations.

The best of the modern ones IMO. The Borderlands games are great and all but i don't really think of them the same way as i do games like TQ, TL, D2 etc.

Don't bother with Borderlands 1. It's a good game, but Borderlands 2 is much better. It's loot based, but it's a FPS.

Apart from that, I've played Diablo 3, but that's about it

Borderlands 1 is definitely worth it, BL2 is just more of the same.

If you like Borderlands buy both.

Coz "gota catch em all Pokemon" was well addictive and still enjoyable.

fantasy games

Diablo series
titan quest (probably the best)
Sacred series (S2 is fun but doesn't like win7 x64)
dungeon siege series (old but good)
torchlight 1+2

sci-fi

borderlands 1 + 2 (fps)
krater (not recommended as found it poor)

Also most well known rpg games like Skyrim , Oblivion etc can be modded to give random loot

If you have never dabbled in mmos. They are loot driven. Rift is a decent free one, worth looking at.
Wow comes with a lot of hate but there is a reason so many people play it.

Not for the ridiculous price, Torchlight 2 is superior in most ways and has been as cheap as £3.74.

Dungeon Siege 3 is worth it aswell imo, underrated and slated from no solid basis. 1 & 2 are better though.

RIFT is awful, takes 50 years to complete a quest because there are so few nodes and so many players. TERA is far superior, but then TERA is the best MMO out at the minute.
