I'm guessing it's going to be UO2. He was talking about doing it a while ago and was trying to get a publishing deal with EA - he might have finally got it.

The problem is that EA own the Ultima brand, so he's got to go with them if it's anything to do with Ultima.

It does not need to be Ultima in name, could be a spiritual successor.

Tabula Rasa. Great ideas watered down and altered due to budget at the last minute which resulted in a game which made little sense.

I doubt they could raise enough kickstarter money for an mmo they are to expensive to make.

i'd settle for a UO game with privately hosted servers like minecraft though

Yep. There was indeed a sequel to Ultima Online, and it sounded amazing too, until it got canned halfway through development. Bitter tears were shed.
