Lotro is the best MMo ive played since SWG pre NGE CU, it has a very mature user base/community , excellent graphics a great Epic story line.

Ive played it through closed and open beta and still have a subscription, abeit i only play as a Creep on Laurelin server nowadays but will go back to Snowbourn when the Mines of Moria open up.

fantastic game

The grind fest helps with traits which help to personalise your character. Most quests you get are going to involve killing something or other so they do try and get around this by adding up to your traits.

It's an okay way of dealing with it.

When it first came out I got the lifetime sub. Think it was £100 and then no fee to pay ever. So I'm now down to paying £7 a month and obviously that will get lower with time.

have seen $199 for lifetime, so that mean its $199 and never pay anything else?

camera is awful? as with, well, most mmo's? zoom in and out with mouse wheel, right click, position camera anywhere, what exactly is missing?

I did get an issue last time I was playing that every now and then, randomly zooming would stop working which really got on my nerves as zooming in and out to see whose around you and who you might aggro before zooming in to focus on someone to fight is invaluable really. If you have that issue, relog into the game, only way i found to fix it.

I think they are reopening the lifetime deal, which for people now planning to stay for years will be worth it. OR at least, I'm 99% sure they've redone it in the states which is run by Turbine themselves and Codemasters who run the game for them in Europe tend to screw us over often, so they might not do it here. If you look at the map, fully zoomed out, keeeeep going, then work out which bit we're able to play in, expansion every 1-2 years and you can see how long the game is likely to keep going if people keep playing anyway. Very concievable that if there is a player base there will be content over the next 5-6 years at least. Might grab lifetime if it comes back then the choice to replay now and then, and play new content is easier.

the lifetime subscription is available when you register your account via codemastes/cog website, although it will set you back £150 approx

Top up your game time, but must be manually kept up to date. Single payments are a one-off, instant obligation. This means a single, non-refundable payment is taken immediately. Please use this option if you don't have a credit or debit card
Payment Method: PayPal
Amount of game time to purchase:
£114.89 (+ tax)

Have just started playing again (Since Pirates of the Burning Sea turned out to be utter crud :( ) and have chosen to go on Laurelin (the English RP server) as friends said it has a good atmosphere attitude on there and I have to agree with them. The attitude of most players I've come across is mature and helpful. I Have chosen to play a Hobbit Hunter this time (Which is completely not the sort of class I normally play) to get a different slant on things and I am loving it, I've found I actually care about Miteno (my character) rather than it being a device to get as far as I can as fast as possible.

Definitely worth the sub in my book.
