In most cases, yes this is it.The flash back in is a sign you can move back into lane 1. Its general used between trucks and slow cars or towing stuff.
You can say thanks by flicking your indicators left, right left![]()
Courteous trucker? Don't make me laugh, ahem.yup thats what I do, they are just being courteous

Very often the case.maybe you're pulling in too early, a HGV is real heavy and has a massive breaking distance
he's trying to save your life, i reckon![]()
This goes on a lot, I've noticed it a lot more since I now drive a "Stobart" truck, theres so damn many of them flashing & waving I've started to ignore the lot of 'em!Random flashing or.... Another of the same squadron on the opposite carriageway ?
I drive for Langdons.. There are a LOT of us on the M5/4 etc.
Most flash each other... I dont return the flash if there is a vehicle close by that may misinterpret the signal.
I put my hand up as our squadron pass by anyway.
This happens a lot and will result in a polite gesture / flash from the trucker, its down to consideration, most of us don't want to be stuck in the outside lane.OP: were you on a slight incline? This may annoy an HGV driver who's been accelerating hard for the last 2 miles just to get up the hill ahead![]()
Again, happens a lot. People forget that braking infront of an HGV can have drastic concequences.I don't think they like it when their made to slow down even slightly, even though you should never need to make another car slow down when over taken, as it would take them a fair amount of time to get back to the speed.
