Losing Sync…

Hey guys,

I’ve been on Nildram MAX since 14th June and, as expected, things were up and down for the first 10 days or so, but I thought that by now I’d have a stable connection?

I seem to be losing sync and re-connecting almost immediately up to about ten times a day according to my router log?

The connection is constantly changing its sync speed, although my connection speed remains almost unchanged according to results from both DSLZone and ADSL Guide?

I’ve tried all the usual, master socket, new filters etc but still it keeps happening. Usually at awkward times too – during downloading or gaming :(

Should I get on to Nildram or is this normal behaviour?

Please advise :)

Hardly a shock, the BRAS limit mechanism should mean your speeds stay more or less static (though towards the minimum sync rate you achieve).

The former, though collecting attenuation, SNR margin et al might be a good idea before you do.

Thanks for the reply tolien!

I'm currently getting 56dB attenuation down and my SNR is 6 or 7?

I'm syncing at 3552 kbps, atm :)

Thats high attenuation and low SNR for such a sync speed if you ask me.

2meg limit on attenuation is 43 for BT to upgrade and 10+ SNR is good for stability...

What were you on before? Ive recently downgraded from 2 to 1meg after my sync kept going.. at 1meg attenuation limit is 60.

I'm on MAX?

I used to be on 1 MB.

I'm curently getting about a 2.4 MB download speed :D

Although, I've had it as high as 3.2 MB, but atm it seems stuck at 2.4 MB.

BT said I could get up to 3.5 MB
