RESOLVED: Loss of connection with router
I usually leave my router on but last night I turned it off.
To my astonishment I couldn't connect
The power light was flashing red and green and the ethernet light was also flashing green.
The DSL and Internet light were both unlit.
I checked all the connections and also attempted to reset the router with a pin but nothing happened
I am online now as I had to go back to my BT voyager modem so thank goodness I didn't throw it out as it is very useful as a backup!
When I attempt to repair the router connection after a few minutes I get an error message saying "Windows cannot finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed - renewing my IP address."
Is this a serious problem?
I was going to ring Speedtouch but their helpline is 50p a minute and anyway I am not sure if they are available on a Good Friday?
I did ring AOL's helpline but they were useless as they just said to ring Speedtouch even though I have bought a router which is recommended by AOL themselves namely a Speedtouch 546 Ethernet router!
I can get by on this Voyager modem for the time being but I would rather have my router operational again
I have only had a router for a few weeks so I'm a newbie so I expect I have overlooked something
