Loss of performance since 7.8 - 8.5 upgrade

Hi,

I upgraded my Intel Matrix drivers from 7.8 to 8.5 and have got a drop in performance, see originally:

Now with the 8.5 Matrix Storage drivers:

Any idea's what is going on?

Write Back is turned off in new drivers ?.

Write-back cache is set to enabled on both volumes.

I literally ran HD Tune to baseline the volumes, installed the new driver, rebooted, and ran again.

Wish I hadn't bothered!

Is it just me or is the performance pretty much identical before and after?

The access time on the RAID0 volume has gone up from 0.1ms to 3.4ms.

The burst rate on the RAID5 volume has gone down from 1541mb/s to 1253mb/s.

I'd ignore the burst speed because it's meaningless in terms of real world performance and I'd call the access time a statistical anomaly, there's only one data point above the axis on the second test.

Hardly worth getting worked up about.
