Lost all my firefox bookmarks?!

Hi,

About 2 days ago I opened Firefox only to find that it was all working correctly including extensions, but my bookmarks had vanished.

Any idea where they could have dissapeared to? :confused:

thanks, but it says I should have 5 backups of recent bookmarks and there aren't any in my profiles folder as it says there should be?! Infact there is no such folder as 'bookmarkbackups' as it states there should be?!

There's also a "bookmarks.bak" file in your profile, this may be worth a look. Just change its file extension to .html (providing it exists) and hopefully everything will be just as it was

I have mine here:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\visnl051.default\bookmarkbackups

Make sure you've got 'show hidden folders' checked. (Tools > folder options)

hmmm the backups there go back to the 13th and it doesn't contain my old bookmarks.

Am I stuffed?

the bookmarks will be imported into a folder in the bookmarks menu

I made a thread asking the exact same question lol ages ago. It's so annoying when it happens. I use Bookmark backup:

a good idea is to get an extension that backs everything up for you automtically or when you ask it to. i think there is one called febe on the website thats pretty useful. it backs up everything. including your settings.
