lost my sata harddrive

just managed to change from amd to intel core 2 duo without reformatting but have lost my sata harddrive. Only the primary ide is showing up. Does anybody have any ideas? thanks
Changed from amd 3200 in an epox 939 board to e6400 in the Asrock dual vsta. sata drive does not show up in bios either

Are the SATA ports enabled and configured to be in IDE mode in the BIOS?

That is a good question because I do not know. I better have a look. What should I be doing ...I know I sound like a fool but I am exhausted after having rebuilt this spec up etc

Ah! I see! Anyway I sit's sorted now. I just shifted it to a seconfd port and its fine. Thanks for the advice though
