**Lost Odyssey Official Thread**

Played more last night, Got through the glacier thing last night and killed the dinosaur boss at end (very easy even with a crappy lvl 25 in my group that died after 1 hit lol)

for him i basically just kept hammering flarea for 1000hp a hit and using physical with kaim and seth.

A top tip i find is that letting 1 of your immortals die isnt a problem, as they come back up after a number of turns. Dont panic if they go down, concentrate on suriving until they pop back up.

I hit disc 2 at about level 19 and 10-11hrs in. Not skipped any scenes or dreams but I do read fast so that probably speeds the dreams up slightly. Certainly not rushing through the game though. :)

i got to disk 2 in 7 hours, and this is after running round the crimson forest for 30 mins before i realised you have to go to ghost town first,
I havn't skipped any dialogue or dreams, and i havn't skipped any fights but i am level 21,

How is it taking you so long to get through, i try to explore every town but everytime i run somewhere it cuts to a cut-scene and pushes me onto the next area, finding it really hard to explore atm

The thing with these games is that there isnt much to explore in my opinion. Get to a town, sprint to every building, check every pot, talk to every person.. then move on.

Awesome game, but Im lvl 34-35 i think (memory from last night)... and on disk 3 at 20hrs. I dont feel that ive rushed it, I explored areas to the point that i would just be going over the same places.

Yea, this game is worth 35 quids of my money.

If this game isn't worth a try, then no 360 game is worth a try

Put in a couple of hours today, enjoying the game a lot more now, will be going back to this later on tonight!

Still waiting for this game to arrive from a certain somewhere located across the other side of the world... funny thing is i can almost get it as cheap just walking into a store and buying it there and then :p. Got to wait it out now though...

This game gives me fuzzy feeling in the pit of my belly :)

FYI, If you are on a SD television, it's not overly easy to read some of the text in the game, And considering the dreams are text, It can make your eyes hurt.

And no, I don't need glasses :p

Haven't started on black caves yet, just right outside by the save point.

I did try going in to see what the mobs are like tho.

Basically Magic type, then aerial(wind) element mobs and earth mobs.

Just gear your heroes with the right ring I guess + 2 sorcerer doing the opposing element.

But always keep melee on the dark sorcerer cause if you use magic it counters it. And it doesn't take that long meleeing the sorcerer down.

I think the harder mobs are the ones at sorcerer house. God dam, the mobs between both dimension got me good. Totally different strategy needed.

i got all the way to the end, but got mullerd by the last battles, couldnt try again as the missus was here :(.

I'll be honest...Not read a single page of this thread.

I'm a huge FF fan and I need something to fill the massive void between now and FF13!I've been waiting a long time for a decent RPG since FFX (FFX-2 and 12 sucked =/)

How does this game compare?Battle system/Magic attacks/Graphics ect

I'm going to copy and paste something I said in another forum, Just for you. This is of course my personal opinion of the game, But i think it's accurate.

I've been playing it since yesterday and I have to say, To me this is without a doubt the best alternative Final Fantasy RPG ever made, If you've seen reviews pointing out the flaws in the game , Such as low frame rates and over the top animations. As far as I'm concerned, The low frame rates are forgiveable due to the excellent storyline, and the over the top animations are done in true Final Fantasy style, and to me they aren't over the top, they just add to how great the game seems to be put together.

Graphics are not quite as next gen as say Gears of War or certain other games, But they are definitely not Play station 2 standards, I'd say they are somewhere in between. (Hell I'd take playstation 2 graphics and a higher frame rate, game play all the way when RPG's are concerned)

Without giving away any storyline, I'll add that there is a side quest available from the start to the end of the game, that get's you to know the main character in GREAT detail, and it's a welcomed edition to the game, Infact I'm loving moving off the mainstoryline to trigger as many side quest missions as I can to learn more!

If you are a final fantasy fan, or an RPG fan, Go out and buy this game, It's for the 360, And for people who arent fans of Final Fantasy 12, The battle system in this has returned to turn based, like Final fantasy 7 through 10

For me so far, I rate this game an 8/10

Just so you can see how I rate the other Final Fantasies to compare

FF7 10/10
FF8 8/10
FF9 7/10
FF10 9/10

Have I pushed the game enough now?

I am gutted, I have store credit with a place and in both branches near me they are sold out! NIGHTMARE lol.

We are not amused.......

So it arrives way after i expected and the damn customs charge is high on top of that....hope the place i have to go to collect it is near enough to the city centre otherwise i have to get someone else to pick it up for me
