So far its a mixed bag.
The stuff about being time based is really a non-issue. You have plenty of energy to explore and muck around tbh.
The akrid are cool, the bosses that is. The little spider ones just sit there and take the punishment you deal out. The human enemies also just sit there and not pose much of a threat. Only the VS' pose a challenge.
The woman is funny. They all have to dress in thermal underwear and fur to keep warm, but that doesn't stop her being able to show a bit of cleavage
The explosions, especially the rocket launcher, is OMGWTFCOOL.

It's not a time limit. you just ignore it and most of the time it's on 4000+ anyway. Lovin this game 
Played the demo quite a bit when it first came out, and I'm not disapointed by the game.
Visually i think its a good balance between looks and speed. And it is a looker. Have you seen the shadows! There has only been one instance so far of slowdown and that was when Mr Worm sent an avalanche my way.....Kicked his ass after that
The guns are great! lotsa bullets, rockets, lasers and the smoke/explosion effects are amazing. Even if they do obscure your view.
Storyline is lame, but I'm not playing it for the story.....Playing it for the fun of shooting baddies, stomping round in mechs, and waving big guns around in a stunning enviroment. You cant deny the fun factor of trying to run around holding a mech gun! Arnie anyone?
Only a few niggles so far:
After shooting pirates down, their bodies disappear way too quick!
After playing GOW, this would look great with blood effects, especially staining the snow landscape.
You can tell vsync is off. But the game does run quick, so i would rather have that.
Still best game in my collection so far

Okay something I'm not understanding. Is their base a big mobile thing or something? If so what's the point of the missions when Wayne could just sit inside in the warm while it moved around.

Excuse me, my name is Wayne and my name in Japanese means warrior of youth.....ok I lied about that bit
Made my mates laugh everytime they mention "Wayne" and it made me feel more a part of the game.
