LOST

Is anyone else rewatching this since I recently got added back to Netflix?

I know a lot of people hate it due to the way it ended and the questions that went unanswered but I'm thoroughly enjoying watching it again (16 episodes into Season 1) and am getting my 12 year old son to watch along with me who is also enjoying it.
It originally aired during a time of thriving message boards so I loved the days of theorising what was going on with everyone.
I've read this post but nothing more in case of spoilers.

When it originally aired, I was glued to the first series but when the second series started and few of the questions raised in the first series weren't answered, I very quickly got fed up and stopped watching after just a couple of episodes.

But I've started again, have just reached the start of the third series and I'm enjoying it now. I literally have no idea what's to come or how it ends so I probably won't come back into this thread until I've finished it.

I had to come back quicker than expected.

Has it just lost the plot? Is this where I stop watching?

Series three, episode five.

Mr Eko gets physically picked up and thrown around by black smoke.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who played Mr Eko, decided to leave the show and return to London.

Fun little easter egg I read earlier. Apparently there's a reference to the UK version of The Office where a girl talking to Charlie says "my Dad is off to buy a paper company in Slough".

And away I go...

Just finished rewatching it with my girlfriend who saw it for the first time. It's still a fantastic show and has held up very well. Even though season 4 suffered from the writers strike I think it's possibly my favourite season as it introduces so many great characters like Miles, Lapidus and Faraday. Those 3 along with Ben and Desmond have to be my top 5. I also thought Keamy was a great villain and needed longer in the show.

Binge watching it also helps tie up loose ends as there is actually a fair amount that gets explained but a lot of it is towards the end so I think when I watch it back in 2009 / 2010 I had forgotten a lotmof the questions that had been asked earlier.

I seem to remember there to be far more episodes with the MiB in original form but he only actually shows up a few times. I think season 6 could have been improved if we found out more about him.

As for the ending / last series
The whole "light" thing is still utter nonsense and I can't believe this was the best they could do.

The flash sideways in series 6 being completely pointless made me feel like mine time had been wasted as the viewer

The show runners of From are the same as Lost. It also has a vibe of Lost to it and expect it is total nonsense and will have a terrible end (if it get's that far) but I don't mind it. It also has WAAALT's Dad in it.

I watched Lost back when it originally aired all those years ago and I thought it was brilliant, bar the ending.

I rewatched it just recently with my 12 and 13 year old and they were both well and truly hooked. Most evenings we had to get an episode in and we'd binge watch a few over the weekend. It was great watching it again, I'd forgotten so much of it and this time round I 'accepted' the ending, it was what it was, overall one of my top 5 shows ever for sure.

Similar here, I watched about the first 8 episodes on channel4 then gave up so you lasted longer than me first time around. Just finished watching it all after picking it up again a few months back. In general without giving any spoilers I'd say:

S1/S2: Solid mix of characterisation and island escapades with an undercurrent of intrigue. Not afraid to bump off characters where needed. This is what I think of as 'pure' LOST.
S3: Very hit and miss, really drags on at the start but has some excellent bits towards the end.
S4: The most action-packed season.
S5: Different kind of vibe, makes you think a lot more, things start to get explained. TBH, the sort of TV my wife would describe as a load of crap (doesn't mean it is, but you have to be approaching it from the right frame of mind).
S6: Brings some closure to certain topics, I was starting to run out of steam so kind of glad it stopped there. A few frankly stupid things. I think S4-6 could've been blended into 2 full seasons.

My wife and I have been binge watching Lost. It was my favourite series from when it originally came out so it's good to see her get hooked as well now. I just finished season 3, but as above, season 3 onwards doesn't have have the same spirit as Seasons 1 & 2.
