McLarens seem like what you'd get if you put a V8 in an Evora. Though the Evora actually has [kid sized] rear seats

McLaren should drop PAS, they aren't much heavier than an Exige I don't think and they don't need it. There isn't much weight over the front wheels on mid engine cars. You gain a lot of steering feel without it

I've got to disagree with you on the PAS, my Esprit doesn't have it and is a pain to park and turn at low speeds. So much so I'm thinking about retrofitting it sometime in the future. I do agree about the steering feel though, it'll be a tough compromise.

I'm so tempted but my money is already earmarked for a new garage build.

I think the Alpine was mostly seen as a more expensive GT86 rival.

It was also quite fugly and the blind aren't allowed to drive .

I agree and I have . Think of it more as a big workshop to restomod my Esprit and others in the future. A little worm in my ear is telling me to change tact though.

As of last week mine was scheduled for October build and November delivery but have cancelled the car now.

Catching up on this thread and just saw this, a bit of a shame as you seemed really keen to get one.
