Somebody is sitting opposite me in our tearoom eating a packet of hula hoops so bloody loudly i just want to punch him in the faceed.

Am i being unreasonable?

No your not, its annoying theres this kid I know he stands behind you chewing with his mouth open and talking its so damn annoying. Just tell them, its a share lunch room, stfu.

Don't punch him in the "faceed" but do something equally annoying instead. Post pics or video of the event too.

Everyday he choose to come to break shortly after me and eats his crisps i have never heard anyone make so much noise. At lunch i have resorted to playing music via headphones as he also has a habit of reading aloud the newspaper giving his views on each and every subject, most of which i have not interest in.

Surely i am not alone in finding this annoying.

No, there is someone like that at our place too. What makes it worse is he is partially deaf so he shouts at you, and can't tell when you already having a conversation with someone else so he is always butting in all the time. Funny but annoying. I resort to changing when I go for lunch.

Are you me? Did I post this?

Got someone who now reads 'The Times' now he had an ipad and reads nearly every headline, I respond to most things with 'Who honestly cares?'

He also, quite literally, inhales his food. It's as if someone is behind him threatening to take it away if he doesn't eat fast enough. I usually just walk off and go make small talk to someone on another floor for 2-5 minutes depending on how big the meal is.

Loud eaters need to be shot, there used to be a guy where I worked that spoke with a mouth half full of food, it was disgusting. Also people who slurp their drinks constantly are just as bad.

My mum is a loud eater, she can eat anything loud , i hate it so much to the point that i sometimes leave the room or go to the the other end of the sofa and put my hood up.

My fiancee's dad is the world's worst at eating loudly, open mouth and all. She even mentions it to him and he still does it :(. She, however, cannot say much as she sits there and chews every bloody mouthful about 100 times (mouth closed btw) however it still sounds like a sodding cement mixer :(

For some reason, I've just had some serious lols from this thread. The AIBU...

Personally, yeah, they wind me up as well sometimes... But it'd depend on the food. I'm sure there is some kind of food where it's justifiable to eat it at 90db...

I HATE loud eaters. I can't concentrate on anything if I can hear someone slobbering and nomming. Mouth open eaters are the worst.

There was a guy at a place I used to work at who would eat soup at lunch time. He would let out a loud "Ahhhhhh" after every spoonfull. So, for 10 minutes we have "Slurrrrrp, ahhhhhhh, sluuuuuuurp, ahhhhhhhh". Drove me mad.

+1000000000

My gf's family all eat loudly with mouths open. It is disgusting. Slurping wine/soup to an extent way beyond what could ever be considered reasonable and anything with sauces/gravy is just horrendous. I try my best to avoid staying for dinner or going round to dinner too often and I NEVER go round when they are having corn on the cob as the last time I was almost sick. *shudders*
