hi guys let me give u my exact setup 1st.

Core 2 Quad Q9550 E0 running at 3.6ghz
Asus p5q-se mobo
Samung 250gb sata 2 harddrive.
Kingston hyper X DDR2 4gb 1066mhz memory
PowerColor 5870 standard gfx
Corsair TX650W Power Supply

im getting low performace results.
i tried 3d mark vantage in performance mode GPU score = 14362
Crysis on very high settings maxed out just about get 30fps if lucky stays around 25.
batman benchmark very high settings without phsyx it get 47 fps average.
i dont understand im very upset with the batman and vantage most important.
as im reading 5870 should be getting around 16000+ on most benchmarks on performance mode.
and in batman i have read at least 60 fps benchmark.
and im sure it cant be the cpu at 3.6ghz
unless its my power supply or something aint set right can anyone help.

What res are you playing at?

Also try:

- Removing all ATI Drivers
- Run driver sweeper including in safe mode as well
- Reinstall ATI Drivers
- Make sure the PCIE Power cables are properly connected.

i game at 1920x1080 and the new 10.1 DRIVers i upgraded from a 4870..
but i uninstalled from control panel and then used driver sweeper then i put new drivers :s
soo wierd i dont get it

That's a bit weird.

If you have a different system you can test it in then it would determine if it's just your system or the card.

Same, IMHO it causes loads of problems. Sometimes it deletes things it shouldn't which result in a Windows reinstall.

That's the reason it shows you a list of the files it deletes, I make sure to go through the list and confirm each one is ATI driver related.

Everytime it's been great for me.

I have never had an issue on any of my computers whereby Driver Cleaner has deleted anything it shouldn't have. This includes going from ATI to Nvidia multiple times.

still cant sort it out today tried uninstalling in safe mode installing new 10.1 hotfix drivers..
ive tried everything i can think of still getting 14000 in vantage and bad batman fps ;/

Download GPUZ and double check the clocks rates are the standard rates set by ATI.

Core Clock should be 850 Mhz

Memory should be 1200 Mhz

Now cross reference the readings in GPUZ with the readings in CCC and make sure it's the same.

Failing that if you have a second full PCI-E x16 slot on your motherboard try using the card in another slot.

Edit

Shaders = 1600 i.e number of not 1600 Mhz. D'oh.

shader clock? 1600 is how many shaders there are :D

A bit silly of me. :(

Anyway if all that checks out, you might want to do some digging around see who else has a HD5870 on P45 chipset and compare results. Most reviewers are using x58 to test the GPU on so it's not a fair comparison, I know the P45 struggles with crossfire (and it's not down to the x8/x8 bandwidth as p55 runs the same cards fine) but I thought with a single card there wouldn't be any issues.
