Low disk space OS drive

Hello everyone, gamers, modders, enthusiasts! So I sent a webnote to OCUK yesterday asking how much longer is left on my build support service warranty. My Sata 6 250GB Samsung 850 SSD drive is full so my build is due for a upgrade.

I can't free up any more space. All my Steam / Uplay and other Origin Games are on my slower Sata 6 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. I haven't put anything on the OS drive other than Star Citizen PU / PTU and Windows Updates.

Only apps are core temp, hwinfo or cpu-z really and some zipped drivers folders! I don't have any images or videos in my documents at all. All other games run from my slower 1TB HDD. I am looking to go with M.2 for OS drive replacement and a 2TB SSD drive for my games library.

So should i wait and go with a 1TB OS drive or will Windows 10 with Star Citizen be fine with a 500GB for a long time ?

Thanks for any advice. :)

Hey guys. Did not expect a reply so soon. Thanks. I really appreciate your advice here.

It's worth me noting that :

1. I need this doing before my support runs out of date for free upgrade before it costs more money to do so.

2. I have budget of £340. So i don't mind paying upto this.

3. I am looking for best performance i can get for £340.

So i definitely do want an NVME M.2
OS drive! For sure!

For games storage i really want to rid of the 1TB optical HDD for faster SSD as well.

The point about leaving Windows on 250GB SSD. It's a good idea. But even after deleting Windows Update files the SSD is nearly full. Really want a bigger faster OS drive for Windows on it but always keeping Star Citizen on the fastest OS drive.

Need to wait for OCUK to contact me. Then my system can be sent back. Anyway thanks again for your advice. Hmm. Really great advice. I aren't sure 100% on decisions yet.

Will have a good think about it. Once it's done. I don't really want to touch my system unless i build one from scratch later myself. Being as it's been built by someone else's hands and still in warranty.

Cheers.
