Low FPS in CSS?

I've just installed, Vista, and i only get 40fps,

If i go to my XP boot i get 150.

They are the same steam files for both, so the same configs,

i'm running the Latest nVidia 7900gs drivers, and ideas?

CS1.6 runs nonestop on 100fps like usual.

Out of interest, as i'm getting an 8800 gts soon and wondering whether to goto vista or not you got any comparison numbers on what framerates you get on vista vs xp, i was thinking i might dual boot too hmmm...
 
I had the same problem when i installed Vista. If you are not using it aleardy try using casey's config, that might help. In the end i got fed up of getting lag at the wrong times so i went back to xp :p
 
If you've turned the image settings to quality then it cripples the performance. I made that mistake with my 7950GT. Set it to 'Let the application decide' to get most of the performance back.
 
well yea i'm dual booting,

i've got a 8800 comming sometime next week, but i want to have the FPS in Vista as i do like it,

Its weird that CS1.6 and CZ are fine but CSS lacks...

I've got the latest updates for everything i can think of.

Anyone got that config?

Just the same as me i am not alone :p sept i am using 6800gs in SLI
