Hi, my rig is in my signature.
I'm playing through FarCry 5 again this time on my 1440p 144hz monitor. But I am dissapointed in my FPS compared to the scores I am seeing online. I'm running at "ultra" but with Shadows on normal, fog on normal and water on normal.
Most of the time I'm around 60FPS, with highs in the 70's/80's but often at times (gun fights) I'm way down in the 40's and 50's.
I recently did the mission where you blow up the gold and have to stave off waves of peggies for 4 mins. God this was like a slideshow. Must have been 30FPS for most of it.
I thought a 1080 was a 1440p card no problem at all? Is it just me? I'm not even Ultra flat out, as you can see I have turned down shadows, fog and water and still it doesn't play acceptably. Checked nothing else is running in the background and checked no thermal throttling going on either.

Anyone else?

Turn off blur and lower the AA to the middle setting (forget which one it is). That should change things drastically.

I run at 2560x1440 at highest settings with blur off and AA down a notch and it's perfect.

Im using a GTX1080 and OC 4670k.
Motion blur is off. I tried AA on middle one but it looks terrible! jaggies everywhere. So had to keep it at the furthest right setting.

Just started playing this and I have everything on Ultra or High or full. Only thing off is Motion blur as I dont like it. The Vram was showing just over 3gb. Ran the benchmark test and I was in the 80's (as per the graph in the link). Moved the resolution scale up to max and it dropped to 30/40 which was a bit alarming although its understandable. Moved it to the middle and was in the 50/60's. I left it on minimum and playing it @ 1440p is fine for me, nice and smooth.

Interesting. I wonder if I have accidentally enabled SS along the way. I'll also check that tonight. Thanks.

I can run it comfortably maxed (would need to double check) at 1440p with drivers after release 1080 min is 2000mhz/5300mhz. Not seen it below 60fps from memory.

So this is my benchmark. But that's not what I am getting in game...

I don't imagine it will be a CPU bottleneck dropping that much FPS. its running at 4.7Ghz...
