Low FPS in FarCry 5 at 1440p?

I run Farcry 5 with 980ti SLI maxed at 1440p and the FPS is always high above 100, just tried it with 1 card and the FPS is still high maxed out, not sure why you are having such an issue. I do however have an overclocked i7 5960x at 4.7ghz / 32gb memory etc. Your card should be fine for 1440p I would think @ main post.
 
I capped mine at 60fps to smooth things out. Occasionally drops below by a few fps, but never noticeable. Interestingly my CPU hovers around 50% and so does my GPU. Maybe I should try it without the cap again as I think my PC was updating when I tried it last time.

I guess either my i7 4770k or 8Gb Ram is starting to hold me back at 1440p with Ubisoft's current engine. 1080Ti graphics card, doubt that is the problem.
