Low GPU usage...

Alright, so I've got a [email protected] and a 560ti. I get around 20-50% GPU usage and don't understand why. I regularly update my drivers. I've also got 8GB 1066MHZ ram.

Any suggestions? I'm probably going to upgrade to haswell once it comes out but it bugs me that I get low fps sometimes.

An mmo for example will crush the cpu and create a bottleneck, holding the gpu back.

Quite a lot of FPS, PlanetSide 2 is counted as an MMOFPS I guess too? Metro 2033 too.

Metro2033 is just FPS, whereas PS2 is a MMOFPS. MMO stands for "massively multiplayer online", which means there can be ridiculous number of people on the same server. Typically MMOs would hammer CPU quite hard, and can bottleneck graphic cards quite badly. PS2 is quite CPU demanding.

For reference, my brother plays planetside 2 on a phenom x3 720 cpu.

He gets the same fps with a hd4870 and the vastly superior gtx470 in busy situations because of cpu bottleneck.
