Hi. I have 12900K stock

32 GB 2x16 GB DDR4 3600mhz

Palit Gamerock Pro OC rtx 4090

1300W Seasonic Platinum Prime

Aorus Elite DDR4 Z690

Windows 11 2H22. Updated new nvidia drivers.

I used 1440P,DLSS PERFORMANCE,RT ULTRA,rest ultra for testing fps.
So i am gettin low gpu usage ,lower than others ( due to youtube friend ) using dlss performance on 1440P,rt ultra. I made a screen comparison. Any ideas why that happens? I compared that with someone with rtx 4090 and 13900K ( shouldnt be that big differences ).

Link to clip:

My pc:

scene1:

116 fps , gpu load 75%:

scene2:

109 fps, gpu load 74% :

Hes pc and identical scenes:

scene1:

130 fps, 87% gpu load:
cc2.jpg

scene2:

128 fps, gpu load 86%:

cc1.jpg

Is my pc working normally or why i have lower usage ? I made a test on identical night time. Also no other programs in background.

PS:Changing from dlss performance to quality no changing in my pc fps,i dont know why. Only gpu usage. Some kind of bottleneck?

Example with crowded area, dlss performance,on dlss quality identical fps:
my pc:
80 fps ,62% usage.

Sorry if someone will think i am trolling. NO!. Just wanna be sure if my pc working ok. 3dmark scores are ok i checked. Thanks for helping. And please no close topic ok?

Man, 1440p DLSS performance is basically 720p resolution. So you are running 720p on a 4090 and wonder why your GPU usage isn't at 99%? Seriously?
no 99%. But 62% is too low? And switching between dlss quality and performance no change in fps.

You have wasted your money getting a 4090 for 1440p. No CPU can feed enough frames to a 4090 at 1440p to make the GPU run at 100%.

No point turning DLSS on when you cant max out the GPU already at native.

Upgrade monitor to 4k 120hz VRR.

Nothing wrong with your PC - you bought a card way too powerful for 1440p. Get a higher resolution display.
Ok thank you all for explanation.Close topic please :)

Last question. Here someone 12700K ,DDR5,Rtx 4090. Dlss quality,1440P,Rt ultra

ho.jpg

115 fps. 92% usage.

Why i have here 90fps and 80% usage,on 12900K and DDR4 3600mhz on rtx 4090? Please dont tell me that is ddr4 bottleneck. Thaaaaaanks

But if my 3dmark scores for gpu and cpu are fine so its ok? Also without dlss i have 95-100% in games. Only in Far Cry 6 60% usage on 1440P but this game is cpu limited for sure

So i am gettin identical usage and fps in this crowded area ( 5:25 start ) on 12900K. But this is 7950X on vclip . Is this normal?

So why switching to DLSS PERFORMANCE it not giving me more fps? It stayed on 102fps on dlss quality and performance. Only gpu usage is changing. Something wrong?

Doesn't matter, it's cpu bound on my run and it's cpu bound on his run. The resolution is completely irrelevant when the CPU is your bottleneck. Quite evident by the fact, like he himself said, increasing or decreasing DLSS (which is basically the resolution) doesn't change his performance.
Hello. I tested in other places in game and switching to dlss performance giving me more fps yes. So switchting to dlss performance, not working in cpu bound places just.

Yeah obviously if he increases res he will get more gpu bound, but thats not the point. The point is, he is wondering why he is getting low gpu utilization in specific areas, its a combination of low settings for a 4090 and not particularly fast ram
not onle me just 13900k have the same drops ( low gpu utilization in specific areas )
