Hi,
I have just installed 2 Kingston HyperX SSD's in my computer, 1 for work & 1 for games, i intend to duel boot using F8.

I used the Acronis software supplied with them to clone my disks (2x1tb cavier blacks), everything went smooth without any problems.

Now i find when i go to 'my computer' on my work drive i have '884kb of 24.9mb' left in System Reserved, showing in red.

I have already got 1 message saying that i am low in disk space.

edit : this is my other disk which seems ok.

How can i increase this.

thanks in advance.

Any chance of larger pictures?

I'm guessing in the first pic, Games Computer and Work Computer are the SSDs?

The second pic is too small for me to see anything :(.

However System Reserved is usually for Windows boot files, usually you can't see this when the current active OS is using that partition in Computer. So that partition you can see may be for your other OS since you're dual booting. Hence if that's the case, I wouldn't touch it as it may cause instability to one of your OS.

Thanks for the reply Orcvader,

Have been reinstalling time & time again all day & still get the same result, here are larger pics :-

When cloning i only had 1 mech drive & 1 ssd attached at a time, i tried a few benchmarks as well which dont look to good either.

Something isnt right & i still keep getting the 'low disk space' message which would be the 'System Reserved Space'

WORK SSD

the system reserved doesn't need more space, it isn't even usually visible since windows doesn't need it once its up and running. I would go into the Disk Management panel and remove the drive letter assignment for it, you should stop getting the low space warnings then.

which did you boot from when you ran the tests? it could be that you booted from the work one and then tested both the work and games ones from there, this might mean that windows was using the work ssd at the same time you ran the test.

Thanks Kotu, will try that.

I see on my AS SSD benchmark that it shows 31-K BAD, that must be causing my bad write speeds in ATTO ?

Quite probably, assuming its an image of your old "work" computer then images can be very difficult to align properly, that's what the "bad" thing is in SSD its basically saying if the alignment is good or bad.

Also, considering the cost of SSD's surely separating work/games computer is a waste of space as you've got two windows install, for no real reason. Can you not save all the relevant work data, reinstall from scratch and even potentially run the drives in raid 0 if you wanted for better overall speed(in reality it will make very little difference).

Think i ran the benchmarks from their own hard disk.

Will do a reinstall of windows on both disks, will be better in the long run.

Thanks for your help.
