Low Windows Ram Score

As long as its the same speed as before (which I'm convinced it is) then it really isn't a problem. Will probably end up over clocking it in the summer anyway.

If you haven't set the proper speed in the BIOS, then you should - as you are not getting the speed you are paying for.

Set the DRAM voltage to 1.65V (or 1.64 if it only goes up in .02V steps).
Set the latencies to tCAS=9, tRCD=9, tRP=9, tRAS=24.
Increase the memory multiplier so that the speed increases to 1600MHz.
You may need to set the "AI overclock tuner" to D.O.C.P, not manual, to get full control.
Run memtest to make sure everything is stable.
Ignore windows score as it is irrelevant.

If you plan on buying more RAM, you would be best off buying a 3x 2GB kit and remove your current set (should sell for a decent price). If you just buy another 3x1GB kit you will be occupying all 6 RAM slots, this puts a great deal of strain on the memory controller and might not allow you to run RAM at full speed and also will limit overclocking.

I've read on another thread that anything over DDR3-1066 is considered an overclock on I7 systems? Is this true?

Technically yes. Because intel only supports up to 1066Mhz on the Bloomfield chips.

However, pretty much everyone (including the memory manufacturers) know that the system can take much more and still be considered perfectly safe and stable. Hence my most people here (including your fine self) get 1600MHz RAM instead.

Forgive me for all the questions, but if something did go wrong, would I still have a case if the memory was running at this increased speed?

Once I've set the memory latency's and all, can I just set it to DDR3-1600, or do I have to increase the multiplier on the P6T?

Yes, just set it to 1600MHz. On some boards you need to set the memory multiplier to increase the RAM speed, but from what I remember the P6T hides this - and you set the RAM speed directly.

The reason the score has changed is because of the switch from 32bit to 64bit, exact same thing happened to me. Your ram is running as well as it ever was, only now you can use all of it.
