Had a -30mm set of GMAX springs fitted yesterday, how long should they take to settle as when I first got the car back, it looked to be the same ride height as with the old springs.

Now it's gradually dropping, the sales person told me 2-3 days but some people say longer.

Excuse the wheels and the car :o :p

it wont go much lower than that I'm afraid, maybe a couple of mm

looks like a fine ride height to still go over speed bumps and have people in the back of your car though :)

They were only fitted yesterday at around 10.30am

It does feel a better ride height than before. It still gives good reassurance to be able to negotiate with speedbumps. . I weren't looking for the lowness of tucking the tyres under the arches, just to sit flush, I will have to wait and see I guess...

Looks ok, all you need to do is change the car and wheels :p

(joke)

Pull a fat bird and drive her around for a while, that'll get those springs settled.

I would say let it settle for 2 weeks. Get you tracking done after this period or say bye bye to your tyres. Haven't you got cheap rubber anyway (Nankang)? Maybe a good thing to wear them out quicker...

My Eibachs are still settling now and they have been on for 2 months...

They are Gmax though so may be a bit iffy. Remember that the nice, "like it's on rails", handling won't last for long and you'll be back to normal ride once they have settled. Best get some coilovers for proper handling. But probably best to save the money.

how much did you pay for the springs and fitting if you don't mind me asking?

Yep its low quality rubber(Nankangs), how much is tracking to do? Will all 4 corners need it?

I'll probably get the shocks done later once the old ones are worn, I heard GMAX are supposed to be a popular set of springs for the Corsa C...

£177!!!!!!

I bought Eibach's for £90 and fitting was £30. Gmax down here are £40, how much did you buy them for?

Not sure on the tracking as i got bought some Pirelli P-Zero Nero's for my car and got the tracking and fitting done for £10! :p

Having counsins who work at vospers is awesome!

EDIT - Saw your edit, You'll need all four corners done. I always tried to avoid Gmax as they seemed like a Halfords special. I Went for the Eibachs as they seem a bit more reputable.

in an hour, wow lol

took me and my mate 6 hours on my mondeo, but we had no air tools to compress the springs, and mondys are very hard to work on compared to other cars..

The guy had done his own Fiesta ST and 3 other ST's before so he was a dab hand at it and my car was his record!

I've looked over the internet and the cheapest I've found 30va44 springs is £72.99

http://www.gmaxsuspension.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=1473_1589_1590_1623&products_id=1250430

I bought them from a motorparts/spares shop in Rochdale for £77.89 plus £25 per corner fitting. The job was completed in 90mins.

If I'd have travelled further afield to Urmston I could have had Apex/Jamex -40mm springs for £179 supplied and fitted.

Looking about the springs don't seem too overpriced but the fitting does. If your happy with it don't worry. Just remember to get the tracking done, after a couple weeks you'll notice the camber and toe in/out will be off.

I went to one place before my cousin's mate did my lowering and they offered to do my car for £60.

£20 each for the front wheels and a tenner each for the rears.

do mk6 fiestas have independant rear suspension??

Nope. Big ol nasty bar that goes along the back! :p Torsion Bar? Trying to think if its a Torsion bar or i'm getting mixed up with the Peugeot type of rear suspension.

Maybe it's because i'm in Cornwall that prices are cheaper.
