What's the lowest MPG you have ever got in your car?

I managed 3mpg the other day. And it wasn't my pathetic maths failing epically either, cos I text Tom and asked him to work it out! :p

So? who's been naughty and got it into single figures?

About 9 mpg I think it was. That was maths generated too, as crappy civics don't need mpg displays.

Yours might not need it, a mpg display is a bit advanced for my car, tis only an 02 plate :D

3mpg seems very low.

lowest i have managed is around 6mpg on the ring in the M5. cant see how you can get much lower than that!

Lots of fun on country lanes at silly speeds. Basically.

9 miles, £15 worth of fuel.

What car is this in then? The 3mpg that is :)

ZS 180. 2.5L V6 which are known to be thirsty from day to day usage...

The car had the light on, I put £15 of fuel in absolutely bombed it back to my flat through the lanes I know very well and when I pulled up outside the flat the light was on again. I sat there for a few minutes to see if the gauge would go back up and it didn't.

Lowest I have managed is about 9mpg in the clio, lowest sustained was 11.4mpg around donington over about 160 miles.

Not a valid way of getting MPG since you don't know how much fuel you started or ended up with, only way to do it is top the car up to the brim drive then brim it again.

Is that world's most expensive fuel or something Jake? £5 a litre?

£15 of fuel would get me about 50 miles if I was absolutely stonking it.

It was 1.11 or something...

£15 of hooning gets your 50miles? Does your car run on fresh air? :p

I was quite impressed when you said that after the MM you had only done a quarter of a tank :)

The lowest average I've had is about 19 over ~500 miles in a Cooper S.

I'd be surprised to see a normal car hit <5 on the roads though, except for short bursts.
