Lowest value

on my dailty walks/jogs, I'll pick up all coins that I see, I put it in a piggy bank and need to see how much I've collected.
I've also picked up bracelets and necklaces in the past, posted them on the local FB group for people to claim back.

Yeah I understand that some people earn more money than the time it takes to bend over and pick it up, but I'm not going out of my way to do it, I'm there already so why not!?
Funny enough if someone wanted me to "work" for them over the weekend or evening, then they would need to pay me 4 times my hourly salary per hour.. my own time is too valuable.

I found two £5 notes in the last year but I never see coins much. I would pick up £1 or £2 but would be looking to wash my hands ASAP

I was out walking with my partner last night and saw a 50p coin on the ground. I mentioned it to her and we ignored it and walked on. Got me thinking, what would be the lowest value coin you would pick up? I think maybe a 2 pound coin. Even then I would probably leave it.
Back when I was at school I got into the habit of picking up any coin.
It paid a large chunk of the price of a game gear over the space of a single term, although it did require I get some coin bags from the local bank.

These days probably a 20p if I wasn't in a hurry, and a good chance that would then go into a donation tin somewhere.

I'd pick up a 50p, even though I very rarely spend any coins any more.

20p I'm walking by.
This is the correct answer. Logically I'd only do it for £1 but the 50p size poses it into the pickup category.
I'd probably lean to pick it up and find someone's glued it down for a laugh.
This happened to me recently. I was so mad!
See a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck
Good point. My wife collects found pennies so I'd have to add an exception for 1ps

I wouldn't bother picking up a coin. It'll just end up rattling around my pocket and then a drawer.

This, there will be some kid or pensioner more appreciative of it
In particular, my daughter. She has a very sharp eye for such things.
She found a 50p at the town fair yesterday and it was burning a hole in her pocket as we walked around the stalls and rides, until she came to a charity stall for local kids, whereupon she went straight up and placed that coin squarely on the table as her proclamation of their cause being worthy.

At my age, bending over isn’t something to be done on a mere whim.

It would have to be at least a €1 coin to be worth it, but it’s unlikely to happen outside of a bar or a tabac these days.
