Does anyone have experience of running an LTE router?

I'm looking for something like this TPLINK MR6400 4G Router which is around £90, the Asus 4G-N12 for just over £100 or the Huawei B315 for around £130.

I presume these, especially with an external antenna are going to be much better than little MiFi boxes like EE's Osprey 2?

My LTE coverage is good being around 2 miles from an 800MHz EE LTE site, and I'd plan to use a pair or antennas on the eves.

As I don't have a landline I've been using a Huawei B593 for coming up 2 years now. It looks like the B315 is the newer version that's replaced it.

Bear in mind most LTE routers are only 100Mbps ethernet and 2.4GHz wifi, but there are some out now with gigabit and 802.11ac wifi. Couple of thoughts:-

1) I started with an Osprey mini on EE. At the time where I lived the signal was very weak so it would only connect if leant up against the window. Biggest problem was the battery only lasted 4 hours max and I couldn't connect and charge via USB at the same time as I'd have to move it away from the window so it'd lose the mobile signal. Also the signal was so marginal that it would often drop for 30 seconds then reconnect.

That's why I got the B593 and an antenna I could suction to the window like this which made enough difference to keep the connection on 24/7.

2) Fortunately after a few months EE must have upgraded something as I went from very weak 3G to OK-ish 4G. I also got a better quality antenna Poynting XPOL-A0001 that can be mounted outside which is something I'd recommend.
