It was on TV a few days ago and I saw it for the first time. And I have to say I loved it. Especially the first half. Went out and bought a copy on DVD.

Just loved the way the main character always had a witty answer to everything. Favourite bit though is probably...

Gangster: Say something else! I will break your mother****ing nose! I ain't playing with you!

Slevin : "But my nose is already broken!"

*smack*

Great movie with a great sense of humor (and a very hot looking Lucy Liu). Although I admit the humor dried up a little in the second half, but nonetheless a very enjoyable movie.

Anyone else love it? (or hate it?)

It was OK. Nothing special imo. I don't have any good or specific reason, I just never quite enjoyed the whole mood or feeling of it or even the story.

I kind of agree with the above^.

I remember watching it with no real idea as to what it was about. Having Morgan Freeman and Ben Kingsley made it on it's own. I loved the twist and the general feel of the film. It definitely had something 'different' about it.

A great watch, definitely worth the time.

Rate with stars. :D

It was ok. I agree, kind of tried almost too hard to be "clever" which got annoying to watch until it became clear who he was. I liked it after watching the ending, but I think it could have been done a little better and gone further with him vs Willis about the girl still being alive. Reviews suggested it was really bad... I would have said 6/10 tops.

I think the people saying it was to fake/contrived are taking it too seriously. I personally viewed it more as a comedy than a gangster movie.

I mean you wouldn't say that Ace Ventura was unrealistic because the lines were contrived, so why would it be any different here?

I wasn't expecting anything, apart from a lot more gore and violence, as that was how it was advertised as being. Not that it NEEDED more, just what I was expecting. I thought it was ok but had some holes in it that I didnt like.

I saw it on Sky about a year ago and like the OP thought it was actually rather good so a couple of weeks later bought it on DVD as part of a 3 for 2 deal..... however never once watched it again and as a result it was a part of a big bag of old DVD's I gave my g/f and her family a week or two ago

Saw it not long after it came out, and have watched it 2 or 3 times since.

Very underrated film, but it would've been even better withOUT Ben Kingsley.

It is a good film, I wasn't hoping for anything great when I decided to watch it. Josh Hartnett often being a bit of a bad sign in films but he actually works well in the film, there's some good lines and it is reasonably clever. Favourite line for me has to be "What, like you slipped and he fell?".

I really like the film, I have it in HD

I wasn't sure about Hartnett either, but I thought he was actually quite good, which very much surprised me.

Lindsey: You mean this isn't the first time a crime lord asked you to kill the gay son of a rival gangster to pay off a debt that belongs to a friend whose place you're staying in as a result of losing your job, your apartment, and finding your girlfriend in bed with another guy?

:D

Yeah this is one of my favourites - remember seeing it at the cinema and promptly sending a text to ALL my address book to watch it...

Its a very nice film...
