Hi, I am going to be flying out to Belgrade next week with Lufthansa in buisness class.

Has anyone flown out with Lufthansa in business class before? What do you think of the quality of the seats and the food?

Are the movies up to scratch and are they shown in english?

If not I will request to have my airline changed to BA.

Many Thanks,

Dave

A quick search shows that Lufthansa are refitting most of their long haul flights with new furnishings, whether you'll be on a plane with the new or old fittings I haven't a clue sorry.

Hopefully you'll get lucky and end up in the new business class :)

I've only flown short haul business class with them and its pretty much identical to BA Club Europe. It was a short flight so I can't comment on the movies but the food, drink and seats were all quite nice. Nothing spectacular I might add, just typical of most regional carriers business class.

Cheers for the replies guys. Hopfully I'll get lucky and get a nice newly refurbished one.

leaskovski: I drove to work by car this morning, was a truly amazing experience! The M1 is such a beautiful road! I would highly recommend driving down it.

Welcome aboard.

I walk to work. My feet are awesome, except that bit *pokes foot*, I dont like that bit.

I've flown Lufthansa Business before and they're not bad... comparable to other airlines but no more.

I doubt any movies will be shown though... it's only a 2 hour flight to Belgrade through memory (from London).

a lot of European business class flights don't even have different seats , they just leave the middle of the 3 empty

Nah, i think i will give that a miss. :D

Don'f forget the little curtain they put between the economy and business class passengers! Just so you can feel that little bit more special while reading your free paper :)

It's a two hour flight, they probably won't even show any movies. I've flown with BA business class to Europe before and like others have said the only real difference is the food, free newspaper, priority checkin/terminal services/lounge.

It's only really long haul flights where you are going to be looking at things like different kinds of seats and huge catalogues of movies.

Just reminded me, I had an experience with BA clubworld (not quite business I don't think) but still pretty nice.

Basocally 6 of us (Dad, Me, Sister + Dad's Girlfriend, Son and Daughter) were flying to JFK in New York from Manchester iirc. Got to the BA check in about 1 and half hours before check in opened (Dad always likes to be early).

So while everyone went off to grab breakfast, I was tasked with looking after the suitcases as the only person daft enough to queue up hours before check in opened (bear in mind this was around 5-6am).

So I'm stood there, and my dad's girlfriends son retuirns with food so we stand there eating and chatting and a BA woman approaches us with a clipboard and asks us are we waiting for flight xxx to which we reply yes indeed.

This woman then proceeds to explain to us that the scheduled plane had to go in for unscheduled maintenance and the replacement plane didn't have enough seats. This point I was uh-oh ... looooooong delays :( well she then told us she was looking for people to volunteer to step down from the flight from manchester and uin return they would be upgraded to club world for free, with the condition that they had to fly a couple of hours later on and from heathrow.

At this point I proceeded to grab my dad, and explain to him what was happening. He didn't believe me of course  at least not until he got to speak to the BA woman.

Well eventually we got it sorted, we flew first class on the shuttle down to Heathrow, got to hang out in the business clas lounge area :) (looking completely out of place in the process) and ended up being in club world on a 747-400 to JFK. It had everything, reclining seats then folded down into a bed, the TFT folded over so you could lie on your back and still watch the movies :) even had ethernet ports :)

Was the best experience of my life!!! However for one ticket, one way to JFK would have cost the same as 6 tickets in economy!!! But damn what a way to travel.
