Lunch or Tea?

Tea? Don't be stupid. Tea is the evening meal!

Dinner = midday meal
Tea = evening meal

But the word Dinner does get used for the evening meal a lot too! :D

Zomg we've just been speakin about it an u still get it wrong .. its Dinner .. tea is the one you have later on.

Because of differences in custom as to when this meal was taken, dinner might mean the evening meal (typically in the higher social classes) or the midday meal (typically in lower social classes, who may describe their evening meal as tea). :D

What's lunch then?

When you are at work, you have a lunch break. I am taking my Lunch hour. I am off to Lunch.

Never heard of a dinner hour.

WTF? Dinner is what you have in the evening... who has dinner at 1pm?

Some people say school dinners, but then some people also have packed lunches.

Weird.
