** Lurking deep within the bowels of the OcUK Warehouse... **

I have a pair of these atm, mic and sound clarity is great, comfy too.
So much so, my son has taken a liking to them for gaming.

The upside is I had to upgrade to the tiamats (still waiting but the order is done!)

Seem to remember paying a lot less than that tho  May have been TWO.

I have an HS1-A and found them lacking in bass out of the box - I downloaded custom drivers for my X-Fi in order to get them sounding reasonable. As for build quality, my left earpiece stopped working after a few months and I've had to twist it at a certain angle to get the sound back :) I'm curious if poor build quality was the reason why Corsair discontinued this model, as I remember a fair number of users complaining on their forums.

I was quite disappointed considering I've had top notch Corsair products in the past. When these eventually fail, I'll probably go back to my Sennheiser HD-555 headphones and get a custom mic to go with it (modmic.com) for the best of both worlds.

I was sent a pair of these either by mistake or as a complimentary gift when ordering pc components from another e-tailer. Apart from the seemingly non-existant bass response from the drivers this headset sounds reasonable when playing games & watching movies. Mids & Highs are clear meaning dialogue & voice overs 'pop-out' of the sound stage well. They are however useless for listening to music they aren't designed to & do not perform well in this area.

Like yourself after a couple of months of use the left side with the cable went dodgy had to twist it around the microphone to get it to work then stopped working shortly afterwards.

I was also surprised at the way they failed as the build quality 'appears' to be good everything feels solid and the cable is braided the other components don't look or feel cheap & they are fairly comfy to wear for long periods.

The original software wasn't too great but Corsair have since created a new program to manage everything. No more bass problems. :)

I must add: The Corsair website doesn't include a page for the HS1(A), but the drivers are downloadable from the Vengeance 1500/2000 page. Fully compatible with the HS1(A).

I have the analogue version of these, no problems yet, but i can only last a couple of hours as i find them heavy and uncomfortable after a few hours

I also had that problem. The left ear piece went really quiet and then stopped working. I sent them back to Corsair and got a replacement Vengeance 1300 but now they are not working! :(
