LX3

Well guys, I am now the proud owner of an LX3.... :)

Decided to bite the bullet and get one after all!. :)

Paid £327 for Black in the end.

If anyone's still holding back then read this. I've known Tony for almost twenty years, he's a fine pro photographer and his opinion was enough to make me buy an LX3 yesterday....

Came through this morning - what a beautiful camera!

Love the retro look and feel - this is the best build quality I have seen of any Panasonic camera. Battery is charging... can't wait to take some pics.

Just wanted to bump this thread. I am desperate for a little protective case for the LX3 but don't know what to get - anyone got any ideas?

Im afraid im also after a case ! lol, someone must know? there doesnt seem to be anything specific iv seen, I dropped into a camera shop yesterday, and there were some generic ones, but non that fitted perfectly.

theres a fantastic panasonic leather case for it, slightly pricy though, going on for a ton. you can get it in black , red and brown - the red and brown cases in particular give it a very nice retro look and feel.

btw i cant rate this camera highly enough, i had the lx2 before this but the f2 lense is just absolutely stunning, the wide angle mode is gorgeous too, especially if you publish on flickr and other such sites.

Now I've sold my TZ5 I am looking at either this, or the G10 - I am tempted to go G10 just because of the extra telephoto ability - but I'm really not sure. Both cameras are receiving rave reviews.

its a compromise - they couldnt have a longer zoom on the lx3 without increasing the f number, i think its a 2.5 zoom, even less than the lx2. it does go pretty nice and wide though.

The TZ5 was wide, but had an incredibly long zoom which created some lovely photographs, (although noise was terrible at the highest settings) but the telephoto is more important in my opinion. I think a decent zoom opens up more opportunity. The LX3 zoom seems severly limited, but in reality is it such an issue?

I am debating on getting this camera for my girlfriend, anyone have this that can say whether it is worth the £300?
Any other alternatives? considering the ricoh g200.
