Hi, I'm getting confused over the m.2 drives and the PCI lanes that are used for this as I want to buy an m.2 for my OS. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 1600 (which has 20 PCI lanes I think), an Asrock AB350m, 4 SSD's taking up all my SATA ports and then a 1070ti using the PCI x16 slot.
Am I right in thinking that the m.2 drive will use 4 PCI lanes of the 4 that are left after 16 have been used by my graphics card?
I can't see anywhere in the manual of my motherboard that the m.2 slot will replace a SATA port either so I should be able to use all 5 slots.
This is the specs page for the motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M/index.asp#Specification
Thanks.
