M.2 NGFF SSD

Newbie question..

I've looking at getting a Maximus VI Gene Board - and it mentions "Support M.2 (NGFF) Type 2242 SSD card (22mm x 42mm), Support PCI express 2.0 x1 and SATA 6Gb/s standards"

Does anyone use this for SATA? any example of the disk, or other configurations people use this slot for?

M.2 is not SATA.

buy M.2 SSD, like Sandisk or Intel.

Is M.2 just like mSATA then? is that what it actually stands for?

This is a normal SSD, or am I missing something.

Thought we said it was mSATA

What you need to say was Overclockers don't sell M.2 drives yet - and I can't find anywhere in the UK that does.

crucial supposed to be releasing an m500 m.2 drive aswell but no idea when its available
