I'm running OS + Apps + Games (albeit not a large number) on a 1TB SSD

If it's OS and Apps only then 500GB would be more than enough with plenty of room for future growth whilst keeping costs reasonable (I expect even 250GB would be sufficient and still leave some room for growth)

Thanks I was going for a 250Gb one and then noticed that the 500Gb ones and wondered if I would ever need the bigger drive so asked on here

That's the problem I use a 120 from my htpc and its in a pc that my son gave me minus any drives to tempt me back into pc's after a few years away. the ssd is currently 74 used 33 free and I have a 500Gb hard drive for everything else (and can get more hard drives from my server if needed for storage). I just don't want to get the 250Gb one and further down the line fill it up but neither do I want to be sitting with a 500Gb and never near to capacity. So I wondered how you all are using your drives ?
Thanks
