M.2 SSD heatsink question

Hi All

Currently have an M.2 pcie gen4 installed on a msi tomahawk mag wifi motherboard.

I believe the motherboard already has heatsinks as standard to go over the top off the SSD's.

I'm looking to buy another M.2 ssd now for my second slot and noticed the one I'm looking at has the options of purchasing with a heatsink fitted for £130 or £80 without.

Will I be ok buying without with this motherboard?

Any thoughts on this would be greatly received.

for reference it's the wd black sn850 ssd I'll be looking to get.

Absolutely zero sense to pay that much for M.2 heatsink!

You can get those heatsinks starting from £5 like Jonsbo.

But not all of them support drives with parts on both sides.
But heatsinks just stuck on top of drive doesn't care:

At least BeQuiets fit also double sided drives.

Anyway what are you going to do with that drive?
Top priced drive might not give any real benefit over some 5GB/s Phison E16 drive.

don't really need to split ssds like that. they aren't hard drives with physical moving parts. unless you are going to frequently wipe/reinstall on the os drive
also using an nvme ssd for pure storage isn't worth as cost per gb is more than a hdd
