M.2 Ssd Heatsinks

Do i need heatsinks for new m.2 nvme drives ? are they really necessary ?

Some motherboards have them built in, check if yours has.

Unless you're getting a really cheap board it'll already have one.

What do you do with your drives? What gen? If you're buying a PCI-E 4.0 drive and just gaming, there's no need, it won't (or rarely) get hot enough to throttle.
