Not too fussed about overclocking, but a nice stable board would be nice!

are there any favourites out there?

I'm treating myself to a SUGO 01E and conroe setup for xmas! :p

i've always associated ASROCK as the budget end of the market....are they any good?

They make very good stable reliable mobo's.

They are made by ASUS BTW.

I have built many pc's with asrock mobos and have had zero issues with them all.

I reccomemd for this reason. :)

As you are Not too fussed about overclocking then I wouldn't look anywhere else.

Asrock 945G-DVI.

Stable board, can't fault it at all.

There are no overclocking mATX Conroe boards... yet.

Yes there is.

ASUS P5L-VM 1394, i945G, S775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 400/533/667, SATA II, uATX, On Board VGA

will clock to 350-400 FSB apparantly.

isnt that the intel 945 chipset? isnt it only the 965/975 chipsets that support core 2 duo?
i could be wrong ofcourse but i think thats right :o
EDIT: im wrong its weird though is the 945 a purely m-atx motherboard?

I can only find the P5 B on OCUK.....do they not stock it here or is the code wrong?

furry muff...
i'll take that as a compliment :D
i might go in search of this motherboard and see as i have a m-atx case waiting here and would rather use it than sell it on.

i'm looking at getting a sugo for xmas. not 'that' bothered about o'cing but the o'cing boards are often the most stable.

buying a pc can be hard work at times.

If you are not clocking then the Asrock offers great value.

Easyrider speaks the truth. ASRock are definitely the best value motherboards out at the moment. The P5L-VM 1394 is a decent overclocking board, 2.4-2.8GHz is definitely possible (SATA HDD are a bit dodgy over 350FSB on that board) and the ASRock 945G DVI is just such good value that everyone should have one.

Those really are the best two mATX Core2Duo boards available at the moment. The ASUS boards are very expensive for what they are (overpriced ASRocks) and they don't clock very well (the P5B-VM is a very poor clocker and isn't that fast at stock speeds). No-one else makes a decent mATX board - the MSI and Gigabyte ones are spectacularly bad. There is a Biostar, but that's a VIA chipset so you might want to avoid that.

Sorry.
